It’s been over two years since we acquired the Cygnus Hatch-Sure device, a fantastic addition to our operations, and I’m writing to share our positive experience as our testing frequency increases. Our primary clients are grain cargo shippers , and we also serve various shipowners verifying their vessels' weathertightness.
I am delighted to report that the Cygnus Hatch-Sure device has exceeded our expectations. Its lightweight design is a joy when ascending gangways, making it highly practical for our duties. All components—sensors, emitter, and receiver—remain in excellent working condition.
Replacing the emitter’s batteries is a breeze thanks to the accessible trap on the plastic casing, and the telescopic extension is perfect for tall users, ensuring accurate positioning. The equipment delivers consistent, clear signals showcasing its reliability. Our operations are smooth and efficient, with the device proving durable and its batteries highly dependable.

I have had a Cygnus for years. To date it the software goes back to Microsoft Windows. But it still performs. That tool has made me a lot of money over the years with only having to replace the on/off switch, While not idiot proof, highly idiot resistant.

One of the best, rugged, accurate and easy to use Thickness Meters that operators always feel good about. We have also used Cygnus Dive and Cygnus 1Ex Certified equipment for many projects along with other models as they were launches over the years and were fully satisfied with the performance. We must be having 12 Cygnus Units in our region and operators are so use to them that they dont like any other units.
